Temperature sensors
Temperature sensor types: Thermocouple, RTD and Thermistor

Thermocouples, RTDs and thermistors suit different measurement conditions. Select the complete probe and readout for the application.
Three common sensor types
Thermocouples use a voltage related to temperature difference; RTDs use temperature-dependent resistance, often platinum; thermistors use temperature-dependent resistance in semiconductor materials. Select the type, range, wiring and compatible readout for the application.

Resolution versus accuracy
A display resolution of 0.1 °C or 0.01 °C is not a guarantee of the same accuracy. Review instrument and probe specifications, measurement conditions and calibration results.
Preparing for calibration
Specify whether the probe, readout or complete system is to be calibrated. Provide the sensor type, working points and acceptance criteria; SK will confirm the applicable scope.
FAQ
Can Pt100 and Pt1000 be interchanged?
Only if the readout supports the sensor and is configured correctly; check wiring and specifications.
